During my Senior year, I was part of team that was involved in Capstone project at one of the global companies. We completed our project in span of 9 months during our internship at the company in parallel with our studies.

The main location of the project was Arçelik dishwasher plant located in Ankara, Turkey. It is the only production facility of Arçelik dedicated to dishwashers and it supplies all the demand across globe. Arçelik promotes its products under different names, such as Beko, Grundig, Blomberg, in different countries.

We developed a Python-based proactive software that actively addressed the problematic and long production planning phase for the upcoming periods of the company’s demand horizon. The software decreased the initial planning phase from 2 days to about 20 minutes. The software takes excel data sheet of demands as an input and returns the proactive schedule for each demand type and country in another excel file.

Overall, the project is successfully implemented into the planning department at the plant.
